Sac County 3-Day Sting Operation:
Multiple trafficked girls identified and assisted.
In a rainy and cold 3-day sting operation November 5th, 6th, and 7th, the Drive4Impact Foundation had the opportunity each day to feed 200 Sacramento Sheriff’s Department deputies, staff, and volunteers. During the operation 32 prostitutes were identified with multiple trafficking victims. The Gang Suression Unit (GSU) worked in conjunction with over 20 different specialized teams across local, state and federal agencies conducting proactive enforcement and directed operations by serving 32 search warrants, conducting over 200 vehicle stops, conducting 58 field interviews and conducting over 50 probation and parole searches. As a result of these combined efforts, Operation Street Sweeper led to the seizure of 86 firearms, 433 pounds of marijuana, approximately 3 pounds of cocaine, approximately 2 pounds of fentanyl, approximately ½ pound of heroin, approximately 2 pounds of prescription medications, approximately 62 pounds of methamphetamine, over $500,000 dollars in illicit funds, and the dismantling of 3 clandestine drug labs. In total 140 individuals were arrested and over 50 gang members were validated during the course of the operation.
A special thanks to the Drive4Impact Foundation’s volunteers and the amazing Chef George, owner of the award winning Smok’d Out BBQ for exceptional smoked bbq catering and Dan and Jeremy Dreher from Wally’s Pizza Bar in Cameron Park.
